Introducing
a HAES(™) aligned collaboration

Happy Valley Nutrition has partnered with My Health Matters Fitness to offer weight-inclusive, individualized personal training (in-person and virtual) for those looking to explore their relationship to joyful movement.

Let’s face it- if you’ve been hanging around in diet culture land you most likely have a crappy relationship to movement. Or, you hate going to the gym (ugh, the mirrors, the gym bros!) and are looking for a more private, supportive way to explore what intentional, joyful movement can look like for you.

And that’s why we’ve partnered with My Health Matters Fitness– because they are JUST like us- working hard to give diet culture the middle finger!

About My Health Matters Fitness

Personal Training and Group Movement Company led by Britt McGrath since 2020.

My Health Matters Fitness is a HAES aligned, weight inclusive, fat-positive, woman-owned company that provides services such as personal training and group movement classes in the Pioneer Valley and beyond. Providing movement services through a virtual platform or in person sessions in your own home, we focus on creating connection with your physical, mental, and emotional self. Creating a safe space for all marginalized communities and telling the fitness and diet industry where they can shove it are vital to our values and mission.

How do I know I’m a good fit?

If the thought of exercising feels like you're wading through a pool of diet-culture bullshit, here is how you’ll know working with MHM Fitness can help:

  • Solution: We have offerings for virtual personal training (one on one or semi private) and group movement classes. You can and will find movement outside of traditional gym environments and finding the movement that feels authentic to you is key.

  • Solution: Our approach to movement guides you to listen to your body in a way that supports you in what you are seeking in a non-disordered, non diet approach. We do not focus on weight loss and help our clients find balance and connection with movement rather than punishment. We also work closely with therapists, dietitians, and physicians to assist you while you work towards recovery.

  • Solution: Our team is certified to assist with your needs and work closely with physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and physicians to create a team that will support you during this transition.

  • Solution: Join us! We are angry too and have our own stories to tell with how we’ve been affected by it all. Establish connections with other clients who have experienced a similar journey as yourself. If you’re ready and healing, let’s tell the fitness and diet industry where it can go *toilet flush*.

If you answered yes or resonated with any of the above, you’re ready to receive support with movement in your life. You can find our pricing and services on our website as well as get a better understanding of who we are and how we can be on your team, along with your Happy Valley Nutrition dietitian!

My Health Matters Fitness has also recently expanded their team by adding a new trainer and group movement instructor. Mary Howell (she/her) will be joining the team and taking on new training clients as well as teaching HAES aligned group movement classes (virtually) starting in mid/late February.

Disclaimer

We at My Heath Matters, as smaller bodied cis gender women, recognize that we are very privileged in our society. The work we do as personal trainers can be incredibly triggering for marginalized communities of people who have repeatedly been discriminated against and ostracized by the fitness industry. We do not, and should never, speak on behalf of those who are affected by the fitness industry, but rather, will always strive to amplify the voices and provide resources of those who are repeatedly doing the work to deconstruct this toxic environment. We stand with you in this fight and will do our part to ensure you are represented in our company. Our work as trainers does not replace the need for a team of professionals to assist you on your journey as we will always stay within our scope of practice and guide you to those who can support where needed.
